Fallas - La Crida

La Cridà invites Valencians and visitors to participate in Fallas, the Valencian festivity. Each year the Cridà is the first massively attended act from the various celebrations in honour of Sant José. Celebrated on the last Sunday of the month of February, this year 28 February 2010, marks the official start of the Fallas, to which everyone is invited.

At 8pm, many Fallero commissions dressed with traditional Valencian blouses (blusones) and carrying their banners.  They gather in the Serranos Towers, an old town entrance built in the fourteen century, to hear the official inauguration of the celebrations.

The day of La Cridà begins with an early start for the falleros with the despertá (awakening).  After, they will enjoy a traditional breakfast at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

11.30am will begin entrance of the Music bands, that will start at the Plaza de la Virgen and will march through the Plaza de la Reina and San Vicente Street towards the plaza del Ayuntamiento, where they will perform the Pasodoble “El Fallero”. To finish, a mascletá will be launched.
