'In a Few Days'

Vicente Rambla, the spokesman for the Valencian Government stated yesterday that he would have more information about Valencia staging a Formula 1 race ‘in the next few days’. He added that negotiations between the Valencian Government and Formula 1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone ‘are at a crucial stage’, but underlined that the staging of the race ‘would not cost us a penny’. For her part Valencia Mayoress Rita Barbera stated that in was the Consell of the Valencian Government that was taking care of the event in its first stages and as a result did not wish to make any comment. However Rafael Rubio, the Socialist spokesman on Valencia Town Council stated that he thought it ‘a much better idea’ if the Formula 1 race took place at the Cheste racing circuit ‘as the public investment if it takes place in Valencia would be considerable’.
