Sorting it Out

The police had to be called to the General Hospital in Valencia after signs of tension and aggression started amongst patients who were waiting – sometimes between three and four hours – to be seen at the emergency services. The incident started after a young man who had been waiting for ten hours for some discharge papers finally went ‘over the top’ and a security guard went to calm him down, but instead received a slap in the face. As a result the hospital called the police, who sent six officers to the Hospital, where they heard such comments as ‘shameful’ and ‘disgraceful’ from the waiting patients. A hospital spokesman refused to comment on the incident.
