Turia Gardens and Gullivers Park

Turia Gardens and Gullivers Park (the old river bed)

The gardens are the central green area of the city, occupying the old river bed. With 230 hectares, the gardens provide a haven of peace and tranquillity in the centre of an urban metropolis.

The different sections have different types of plants and vegetation, canals and ponds, there are also all sorts of sports and recreational facilities including athletic tracks, football pitches, rollerskating and petanque areas.

The main attraction is the Parque Gulliver. This is a play area based around the figure of the mythical Gulliver, tied to the ground by the inhabitants of Lilliput.

There is a framework of ramps and slides for all the public to enjoy. The complex is rounded off with a giant chess board and figures in Section XII of the river bed.
