Seafood Cookery Fair in Villajoyosa

From February 27th through March 5th the new edition of the Mostra de Cuina Marinera (Seafood cooking fair) will take place in La Vila Joiosa.

On its Sixth consecutive edition, the restaurants of this town will offer their best meals and menus specially elaborated for the occasion at very affordable prizes.

Conferences, courses and tasting will be some of the activities of the program of the Mostra de Cuina Marinera. The most outstanding are the extraordinary dinners that will take place for fair’s the opening and closing ceremonies prepared by renowned Valencian and Spanish cooks.

In the past editions, the opening dinners were prepared by Santi Santamaría and Sergi Arola. The dinners for the closing ceremony where prepared by Enrique Dacosta (El Poblet, Dénia), Pepa Romans (Casa Pepa, Ondara), Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz, Rentaría) and Susy Díaz (La Finca, Elche).

In this edition, the opening dinner will be coordinated by Pepe Rodriguez from the restaurant El Bohío de Illescas (Toledo) and will take place on Monday, February 27th at the casino Mediterraneo. The closing dinner will be organised by Ricard Camarena from the restaurant Arrop de Gandia, which was awarded 2006 Revelation Restaurant at the 4th edition of the Cumbre Internacional de Gastronomía Madrid Fusión

Fish and rice are the two main products from the menus in La Vila Joiosa. Some typical dishes are el caldero, elaborated with fish broth and salted fishes bonito and mojama. The most traditional desserts are the sweet potato pastries, la tortada d’atmela and its famous and exquisite chocolates.

This unique encounter full of emotions for the lovers of good food will transform la Vila Joiosa city open to food culture and tourism.
